There are quite a few places in Cozumel where you could check out some local Mexican cuisine. Los Girasoles is one such place and serves some delectable fare and is located close to Hotel Cozumel, San Miguel. While the specialty at this restaurant is that it's mostly Mexican in both décor and food, it has some Continental, Caribbean and European cuisine as well. The restaurant serves breakfast, lunch, snacks and dinner. Pancakes, waffles, omelets, sausage are some of the breakfast items. Lunch could be buffet or a la carte. There is enchilada, burrito and other Mexican fried food for snacks. The desserts are quite sumptuous. It also has some seafood on offer. The portion is appropriate and is plentiful, according to most visitors. Their coffee is excellent and you have local as well as international flavors. This Mexican Hacienda hotel is close to the beach and offers you a wonderful view. You may need to reserve well in advance, however. If you are thinking that you could drop in at the restaurant in your ultra causal swimwear, this may not be possible; the restaurant has a dress code. You are requested to go in "proper dress"! This restaurant is open between 11 in the morning and night. The ambience is like any other quaint restaurant. However, there are occasions when groups of travelers come in and you may not be able to enjoy a very peaceful meal.
